David S. Foore, 61, of York began a new journey on January 8, 2019 at home with his loved ones. Born March 22, 1957, he was the son of R. Hilton and Ruth Anne (Black) Foore of York. David was a 1975 graduate of West Aurora High School, Aurora, IL and was an Illinois State wrestling finalist.

He was a passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast and collector, as well as a disciplined bodybuilder. He loved the outdoors and was always ready to capture a picture of nature. David and his caregiver both wheeled and walked 250 miles on the Heritage Rail Trail in York County one summer.

He enjoyed hunting in his earlier years, but in his later years he was a protector of deer, turkeys and other wildlife that roamed his woods. His courage, grit and perseverance to enjoy life – no matter the challenge – was an inspiration to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Douglas Foore and his wife, Kim of Fort Collins, CO; his sister, Deidra “DeDe” Foore and her husband, Michael Lehman of Mechanicsburg; a niece, Amy Foore; and three nephews, Ethan and Nathan Foore and Christian Lehman.

He is also survived by his best friend and dedicated caregiver of 18 years, Beverly Peters and his constant feline companion, Snowbird. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Road, York, PA 17402 with a visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor and family friend, Debra Helt from Hosanna Lititz Christian Fellowship will be officiating.
