Obituary for David Scott Deaton David S. Deaton, 59, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord at 6:50 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Herrin Hospital. David was born on November 10, 1958 in Marion to William E. and Paralee E. (Whitecotton) Deaton. Mr. Deaton graduated from Marion High School.

He worked for Allen Industries in Herrin, Curwood in Murphysboro, and General Cable in DuQuoin, for a total of more than forty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking through the woods and driving all over God’s beautiful country observing wildlife and changing seasons. David married Toni Endres on September 24, 1977 in Marion.

Together, they had a son, Tyson, and built a family full of love and adventure. David valued every moment he spent with them and enjoyed family vacations. He instilled hard work in his son and cherished watching him grow up.

Other survivors include, one sister Janet (Jack) Stilley and one brother William E. (Helen) Deaton, Jr., all of Marion; father-in-law Gary Endres of Murphysboro, two sisters in-law JoAnn (Ralph) McKinney of Carterville and Tracy (Mark) Kelsay of Jackson, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carol Romans, and mother-in-law Julia Endres. A gravesite service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, at Murdale Garden of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through Pettett Funeral Home.
