David Walter Roop, 71, passed away on February 5, 2019 at his home in Jonesville, Va. David was born on January 21, 1948 to the late Guy and Hazel Roop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Fred Olin Roop.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesville, a graduate of Jonesville High School, and Lincoln Memorial University. He served for two years in the U.S. Army, and he worked and later retired from General Motors. He is survived by a brother, Ted Roop of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Louise (Sam) Cecil of Jonesville, and Carol Horton of Johnson City, TN; a special caregiver and friend, Jennifer; and several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va with Rev. Bob Richards and Rev. Robbie Haynes officiating.
