Obituary for David Wayne Gibbs David Wayne Gibbs, 55, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Annie Penn Hospital. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. David Gibbs was born to Carl Wesley Gibbs, Sr. and Olene Laster Gibbs.

A lifetime Rockingham County resident, David was a loving, well respected and humorous man that loved his family, UNC sports and fishing. He was a supportive father who took pride in his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. He was truly the life of the party and will be greatly missed by many.

Along with his father, David was preceded in death by his son David “ Dae Dae” Gibbs and brother Roger Dale Gibbs. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Helen Lynette Gibbs; mother, Olene Gibbs; sons, Christopher Gibbs, Wesley Gibbs and wife Lauren, Zachary Gibbs, Boe Henley and wife Samantha; brothers, Carl Gibbs Jr., Timothy Gibbs and sister, Rhonda Barker along with four grandchildren and a large extended family.
