Obituary for Thelma Laws Mathis Thelma Jean Laws Mathis, 88, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Family and friends are welcome to visit Wilkerson Funeral Home, 1909 Richardson Drive, Reidsville Sunday, evening, July 1, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 2, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

John Mathis officiating. Interment will take place in Fort Bragg Main Post Cemetery. Thelma was born in Greensboro to the late Zollie and Nora Laws and was a graduate of Greensboro High School.

She always had a mind for business and was a retired accountant. Thelma was an Enrolled Agent and the proprietor of Thompson Tax and Accounting Service in Woodbridge, Virginia for twenty years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harry Ray Mathis, Sr., as well as ten brothers and sisters.

Surviving are Thelma’s four sons, Harry Ray Mathis, Jr. and wife, Laura of Woodstock, GA, David Wayne Mathis of Reidsville, NC, James Philip Mathis of Garner, NC, and John Patrick Mathis and wife, Kathy of Apex, NC; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Hicks of Reidsville, NC. Wilkerson Funeral Home is assisting the family and condolences may be sent to www.
