Obituary for Daymon Grace Nightingale (Cole) Daymon Grace Nightingale of Sacramento, CA, born January 14, 1927 in Hagerman NM and raised in St. Helena CA, a blessed sweet soul beloved by many, passed away peacefully January 24, 2018. She lived her 91 years with a passionate love for family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Nightingale Peart, her son-in-law Greg Peart, and her sister Rae Cole Davidson, as well as many nieces and nephews: Raelyne, Wallace, Bethlyn, Marcia, Valerie, Wayne, Melinda, Myron, Terilynn, James and Tiffany.

Preceded in death, by her loving husband, Olyn “Bud” Nightingale and her sister Eva Cole Bridwell. Daymon was the first licensed woman Funeral Director in the Sacramento area and one of the first in the State of California. She was the surviving proprietor of Nightingale’s Funeral Chapel for 54 years.

One of her heartfelt projects was the orchestration of the International Third World Woman’s Conference in Sacramento during her presidency of Soroptimist International Sacramento North. She excelled in entertaining, flower arranging and gardening. She loved her backyard paradise.
