Obituary for Dean M. Wilson Dean Marion Wilson, 92, Guilford, died Monday, October 22, 2018 at SSM Health – St. Francis Hospital, Maryville. He was born August 12, 1926 to Warren and Fern Reavis Wilson in the farm home near Guilford. He graduated from Guilford High School in 1944.

Mr. Wilson served his country in World War II with the US Army from 1944 to 1946. He married Joy Lee Richards on September 7, 1952 at the Guilford Methodist Church where they were active their entire lives. Dean and Joy raised their family on the farm, east of Guilford, adjoining the Wilson family Century Farm.

He was a member of the Guilford American Legion from 1948 until its closure in 1968, then he moved his membership to the Tri-C Memorial Post 464 from 1968 to present. He served on the South Nodaway Board of Education and the Guilford United Methodist Church Board. He was a Guilford 4-H Club leader and was active with the Guilford Community Center.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beverly and Kermit Black, and nephew, Michael Black. He is survived by two sons, Norman and Kay Wilson, Barnard, and Marion Wilson, Guilford; three daughters, Sheila and Dale Schwebach, Stanberry, Marcia and Bob Tompkins, Lonoke, AR, and Deanna and Royce Cozine, Barnard; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three nephews, Roland and Linda Black, Frank Black and Aaron and Mary Black. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, October 26 at Price Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 am, Saturday, October 27 at the Guilford United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford. Memorials may be made to the Guilford United Methodist Church and SSM Health at Home – Hospice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
