OBITUARY Debora (Joan) Chesser-Campbell February 4, 1955 – November 18, 2018 Debora “Joan” Chesser-Campbell A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018, 5:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Brother Doug Allen will be officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until service time.

Joan was born February 4, 1955 in Fisk, MO and went to be with her Lord November 18, 2018 in Shreveport after a brief illness. After attending Woodlawn High School, she worked for the State of LA where she retired as a supervisor after 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi (aka Meemers), and friend to all who knew her.

She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart, her love of life, sense of humor, and optimistic, faithful outlook on life. Joan loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren during all their school functions and holidays. Joan is preceded in death by her step father, Elias Thomas; half-brother Mike Young; and a niece Chanel Laney.

Joan is survived by her husband of 17 years, Doug Campbell; her daughters, Vicky Green and husband David and Dana Taravella and husband Joe; mother, Delores Ann Thomas; father, Charlie Young and wife Dorothy; sister Shelia Carpenter and husband Tommy, half-sisters, Debra Kidwell and husband Paul and Cheryl Bell; half-brother , Marty Young, step daughter, Cheryl Campbell and a step son Douglas Campbell; grandchildren, Jodie Perry, Marshall Perry , Barrett Green and Joe Taravella IV and wife Ashley , step-granddaughter, Jaigen Campbell; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Joey Taravella . A host of nieces and nephews, special relatives of the Chesser Family , best friend Barbara Winkler, and her fur babies Lola, Itsy & BooBoo. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Willis Knighton North for their compassion and care.
