OBITUARY Jewell Grice Murphy September 19, 1919 – November 4, 2018 JEWELL GRICE MURPHY (MRS. B. J. MURPHY, JR. ) “For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

(First Thessalonians 4:14). Jewell Grice Murphy has fallen asleep and made her way to our Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Sebron Ira and Mary Summerlin Grice, her husband of 48 years, B.J. Murphy Jr., the love of her life; as well as 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Mom/Granny leaves behind to cherish her memory her three sons (B.J.“Jeff” Murphy, III, Patrick and Michael Murphy), grandchildren (Jeff, Stuart, Kevin, Meghan, Shawn and Rachel), and great-grandchildren (Savannah, Caroline, Beau, Murphy, Michael, Charlotte, Wyatt, Matthew, Alex, Nathan, and Bradley) and numerous (great) nieces and nephews. She was a true Southern lady, a devoted wife and homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Murphy was a dedicated Christian and long-time member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Shreveport.

May she watch over us all! Visitation at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, 10am-11am on Saturday, Nov. 10th, with service to begin at 11am at Centuries Chapel and burial at the cemetery on the grounds thereafter.

In keeping with Mrs. Murphy’s loving and generous spirit, in lieu of flowers, please donate to Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Drive, Shreveport 71105.
