OBITUARY Delma Eileen SPEARS March 22, 1941 – January 6, 2019 Delma Eileen Spears, born to Ernest Stephen Cole and Agnes Naomi Bell Cole on March 22, 1941, in Lake Charles, died Saturday, January 5, 2019 in her home in Lake Charles. Her husband of 51 years, David Roth Spears, preceded her in death on December 28, 2010. She is survived by two sons; Phillip Lynn Spears and Dennis Ray Spears and wife, Lisa; stepdaughter, Jessica Ortiz; stepson, Michael Ortiz; stepgrandchildren, Syra and Deegan; sisters, Linda Neal, Janice Maxfield and her husband, Bert, and Stephanie Burns and her husband Neil; sister-in-law, Betty Thomas and her husband Ronnie.

She along with her husband, sons, sisters and sister-in-law was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. She was a Kiltie and cheerleader, senior homecoming duchess and was Miss School Spirit in 1958. She was a loving and supportive mom serving as a Cub Scout den mother, Little League baseball volunteer and Lake Charles High School Band Booster officer.

She also supported her husband in his dream of owning his own electrical contracting business. She was the office manager of Pyramid Electric for 17 years. Visitation will be 10 am – 2pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

The funeral will be at 2pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Garden in Lake Charles. Words of comfort and fond memories may be shared with the family at www.
