Delores Solverud, February 14, 1931 — January 23, 2019

Delores M. Solverud, 87, of Scandinavia, WI, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Maple Ridge Memory Care, Plover, WI. Delores was born on February 14, 1931 in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Merle and Dorothy (Steinke) Bruley, and was raised in Amherst Junction and graduated from Amherst High School. Delores married Lynn Solverud in Amherst on August 11, 1951.

Delores and Lynn lived in Arpin, Nekoosa, and Beaver Dam before retiring to their dream log cabin lake home in Scandinavia, WI in 1989. Delores enjoyed traveling, canoeing and fishing with Lynn. After 43 years of marriage Delores lost Lynn in 1994, but remained at the lake until just the last couple of years.

Delores was devoted to her husband and her family. She was active in her church wherever she was living and brought up her children in faith as well. In addition to occasionally working outside the home once the kids were in school, Delores was a consummate homemaker, seamstress, quilter, Rosemahler and steadfast friend.

She was a loving mother, doting grandmother, proud great-grandmother and liked nothing better than family get-togethers and visiting over coffee or a meal. Survivors include three sons: Lane (Carol) Solverud, Pittsville, WI, Mark (Lois) Solverud, Middleton, WI, Ross (Vicki) Solverud, Stevens Point, WI; one daughter: Lori (Kevin) Butch, Green Bay, WI; grandchildren Carl (Jolene) Solverud, Holmen, WI, Laura (Carlito Reyes Jr.) Solverud, Wausau, WI, Kaelin (Joseph) Fontaine, Monona, WI, Dustin Butch, Minneapolis, MN, Nathan Butch, Green Bay, WI, Kristen (Luke) Pernsteiner, Wausau, WI, Jessica (John) Archer, Fort Collins, CO; great-grandchildren Freya Solverud, Amelia Reyes, Zachary Reyes, Arlo Reyes, Emerson Reyes, Orin Reyes, Lillian Reyes, Axel Fontaine, Alma Fontaine, Vance Pernsteiner, Everett Archer. Delores was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, her parents, her brothers Melvin and Jerold, and her daughter-in-law Cyndy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Amherst, WI. The Rev. Dwight Anderson will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Amherst, WI.
