Obituary for Deloy Glen Pierce Deloy Glen Pierce passed away on October 22, 2018, in Murray, Utah. He was born in Provo and grew up in Orem, Utah. Deloy was the second of four children born to Owen and Florine Pierce.

In high school he was active in the Key Club and served on the year book staff. After graduating from Orem High School, he attended BYU and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Deloy served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ serving in Southern California and Arizona.

He married Linda Rolufs and was later divorced. In 1992 Deloy married Karen Welch. After they had been married for fourteen years, Karen died of cancer.

Deloy started working at Geneva Steel Plant while still attending BYU. He later worked for two different propane companies; and finally for Marriott Reservations. Deloy loved his hobbies.

First and foremost he was an avid amateur astronomer. Both he and Karen were very involved as members of the Salt Lake Astronomical Society. They traveled and took part in star parties in several western states.

Deloy and Karen also enjoyed observing migratory birds. They were regular visitors to the Farmington bird refuge. Both Deloy and Karen enjoyed camping and were members of a local Indian rock art club.

Deloy is survived by his brother, Wayne Pierce (Annette) and sister, Janice Olsen (Mark) and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Arda Jean Muir, and by his dear wife, Karen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Westbrook 4th ward chapel located at 6364 South 3200 West in West Jordan.

The funeral will be preceded by a viewing from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m. at the same location. Interment will take place at Farmington City Cemetery. Upcoming Events Visitation OCT 27.
