Obituary for Dakota Scott Hendricks Dakota Scott Hendricks, age 24, of Saratoga Springs, Utah, passed away on October 15, 2018 in Glassboro, New Jersey, where he was currently working and residing. Dakota has returned home to our loving Heavenly Father after a long and very hard-fought battle with addiction. This devastating disease occupied Dakota’s body, mind and soul for a good share of his young life.
He tried numerous times to overcome this disease, but it always seemed too much for him to endure. He wanted more than anything to live a clean and healthy life for his family, who were so very proud of the man he was trying to become. We will forever miss his smile and the way he could light up a room, however, we now know he is finally at peace.
Dakota was born October 29, 1993 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was always known for being loving and kind. He had a laugh that was contagious and would lure you in for more.
He wanted to be a friend to every person that crossed his path and would give a stranger the shirt off his back. He loved his family more than anything and was a loyal friend. As a young boy he was a fantastic pitcher and had a love of baseball.
He also loved skateboarding. When he was 11, he defeated many skaters, some almost twice his age, to be the youngest skater in an exhibition with the WARP Tour held at Invesco Field in Denver, Colorado. He loved showing off to his younger siblings and cousins with any new trick he could come up with.
Countless hours were spent at skate parks perfecting his style. Dakota also had a love for music. He always wanted to have a career in the music field.
Dakota was the oldest of 7 siblings and numerous cousins whom all looked up to and adored him dearly. Dakota was proceeded in death by two cousins, Alyssa Sage Hendricks and Carlee Sobzak. Dakota is survived by his father, Thaddeus D. Hendricks and step mother Tara (Ramos) Hendricks of Lehi; his mother Kenna Lee (Kindle) Mitchell of Pleasant Grove; seven younger siblings, Makade, Jocelyn, Britlyn and Korbyn Hendricks of Lehi and Garrett, Laker and Kennadee Kindle of Pleasant Grove; his Papa and Nana, Scott D. Hendricks and Toni (Shepherd) Hendricks of Saratoga Springs; grandparents Lee Ann (Colledge) Baum and Kenneth Baum of Pleasant Grove; grandparents Kenny and Sharon Kindle of St. George and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly.
