Obituary for Elden Parley Sargent Elden Parley Sargent, 74, passed away on October, 16th 2018 in Cottonwood Heights from causes incident to age. He was born January 9, 1944, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Parley and Anona Olsen Sargent. Elden was an advocate of the Boy Scouts of America.

He proudly received his Eagle Scout and advanced honors with “The Order of the Arrow”. He received his education in Computer Science as a Software Engineer at the University of Utah. He enjoyed the outdoors with hunting, fishing, and camping.

He also liked spending time with his family, friends, and playing cards at the senior centers. He was known for his love of ice cream and chocolate. He enjoyed trying various types of food, and it was always surprising what could be eaten by “gumming” your food.

Survived by: His children, Michael (T.T.) Grohal, Sunny (Jason) Sargent-Colton, Scott Soderborg, and Mike (Serena) Soderborg. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and Aunt LaRue Olsen Sloan. Preceded in death by: Parley and Anona Sargent (father/mother); Patricia Grohal (1st wife); Barbara Lyne Sargent (2nd wife); Easton Moulton (great-grandchild).

Service Information: Viewing will commence Friday, October 19th at 3-3:45 PM, followed by the cremation service at Serenity Funeral Home, 236 S. 1250 W., Lindon, UT, 84042. Graveside service and burial will be held Saturday, at noon, October 20th at Hoytsville, UT, cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Care on Vine (Care Center) and Canyon Creek Senior Living; West Jordan Senior Center.
