Dennis Allen Baumgardner, Sr., 49, of Westminster died on Monday, December 24, 2018 at his home. Born July 14, 1969 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of John S. Baumgardner Jr. and Helen (Rentsel) Baumgardner of Taneytown. Dennis was a mechanic for 34 years and worked for several area businesses.

He was a graduate of Carroll VoTech and Lincoln Tech. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed showing his Camaro at car shows and won several trophies over the years.

Dennis was a fan of NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhart, Sr. and Jeff Gordon. He loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his son, Dennis Allen “DJ” Baumgardner, Jr. and girlfriend, Whitney Craig of Littlestown, PA; sisters, Christine Eckard of Westminster, Theresa Prochaska and husband Jon of Taneytown, and Gail Windisch and husband Jerod of Taneytown; brother, John S. “Jake” Baumgardner III and wife Lisa of Taneytown; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 30th at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be made to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home at the above address.
