Dennis Blaine Steele March 9, 1956 ~ September 15, 2018 Dennis Blaine Steele, 62, passed away unexpectedly in a work-related accident on Saturday, September 15, 2018. He was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, the son of Blaine LeRoy and Arthella Stewart Steele, on March 9, 1956. He was a graduate of Ben Lomond High’s class of 1974.

After he completed two years of service in the Washington Seattle Mission, he married Renee Hansen on December 9, 1977, in the Ogden Temple. They enjoyed 40 years together. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dennis enjoyed serving as a Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Young Men’s Advisor and as a Counselor in the Bishopric.

He will be remembered for his strong testimony and he was connected to and proud of his heritage. He was a Civil Engineer and Manager in the Public Works Department for the City of Hooper and on the Rural Water Association of Utah. Dennis was an avid golfer and a member of the Men’s Golf Association.

He loved traveling with his sweetheart Renee, they recently fulfilled a dream by visiting St. Andrews and King’s Barn, Scotland. He also enjoyed softball, hunting, singing and playing the guitar. He led, organized and attended many UTV trips, creating countless memories with friends.

He always had a joke to tell, he was the “life of the party”. Dennis lived up to his commitments. He honored his wife.

Very much a perfectionist at times, he could build and do most anything. Dennis was a friend to all, a teacher, a great example and influence. His wife, kids, grandkids, siblings, nephews, nieces and countless friends will miss Dennis!

Dennis is survived by his wife, Renee of North Ogden; children, Justin (Kristin) Steele of Mountain Green; Erik (Jessie) Steele of Farr West; Jennie Kranz of North Ogden; and Corey (Ronda) Steele of Roy; 11 grandchildren, Sawyer, Shepard, Ryder, Madden, Jett, Lucy, Cristian, Camden, Cruz, Caitlynn, and Maximus; and sisters, Sandra (Jawin) Westover of Roy and Debra (Darrell) Clarke of North Ogden. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 4th Ward, 3350 North 1050 East, North Ogden.

Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
