Denver Bare, age 78 of Lansing, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Bare was born Thursday, March 6, 1941 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Thomas Preston and Delta Blevins Bare. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward Bare, two sisters, Francis Holcomb and Ruby Hoosier as well as several nieces and nephews.

Denver enjoyed being outdoors, traveling the back country roads and hunting for ginseng. In his spare time he always found something to work on and tinker with. Mr. Bare was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Even when his health was poor, he kept at positive, fighting attitude. Mr. Bare is survived by his wife, Violet Jones Bare, two sons, James Thomas Bare of Crumpler and Denver Anthony Bare of Lansing, two daughters, Christina Violet Bare of West Jefferson and Gloria Rosetta Hulings of Wilkesboro, one brother, Nathan Bare of Taylorsivlle, three sister, Vicky Bare of Wilkesboro, Claire Shepherd of Laurel Springs and Viviloyd Jones of Newton. Twelve grandchildren and twenty-six nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Scott Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm one hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the family in care of Badger Funeral Home; 300 E. Main Street, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
