Derek Lee “Slim” Reitz of Waterloo, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, having attained the age of 42 years, 3 months and 3 days. Born in Belleville, Illinois on March 23, 1976, he was the son of Leroy A. Reitz and Patricia Dye, nee Hern. He was united in marriage to Nicole Fuca on August 18, 2003 in Kissimmee, Florida and she survives his passing.

Derek was a plasterer in the construction industry and a member of Plasterer’s Union Local 3. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerod Reitz. Surviving are his wife, Nicole Fuca of Waterloo, Illinois, his daughter, Randi Nicole Reitz of Chicago, Illinois; his parents, Leroy A. Reitz and Patricia (Craig) Dye; his sister, Sheila (Zachary) Reitz-Reeves of Mehlville, Missouri; his brother, Roger Reitz of Red Bud, Illinois; his granddaughter, Jacqulynn Reitz of Chicago, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 6:30 P. M. at TR’s on Concordia Church Road in Belleville, Illinois. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is assisting the family.
