Dexter Grant “Weave” Weaver, age 76 of Empire, OH passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Weirton Geriatric Center, Weirton, WV. He was born January 28, 1942 in Wellsville, OH Dexter loved boats, cars and old music and especially loved working on old cars. He was especially proud of being the author of two novels and was retired from the First Energy Company of Stratton, OH as a captain of the company’s coal barge.

He was also a graduate of Wellsville High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Weaver and Leora (McElroy) Fryman, his brother, Michael K. Weaver and his step-father, Kenneth Fryman. Dexter is survived by his wife, Cathy Marie (Conn) Weaver whom he married July 11, 1992; daughters, Brianna (Kyle) Sims of Wintersville, OH and Heather M. (Scott) Allen of Phillipsburg, NJ; sons, Michael (Vicki) Weaver of Marion, OH, Rodney Weaver of Wellsville, OH, Dennis Weaver of Panama City, FL, Timothy Weaver of Ohio and Bryan (Melanie) Clark of Toronto, OH; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a half brother, Kenneth (Maggie) Fryman of East Liverpool, OH.

A private family memorial service will be held for Dexter at the convenience of his family at the Clarke Funeral Home, Toronto, OH. For those wishing to make a donation in Dexter’s memory may do so to a charity of their choice.
