Dianna’s funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 27th at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, February 27th at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Graham Cemetery in rural Mingo, Iowa.

Memorials to Wesley Hospice or to MSA Coalition may be left at the funeral home. If you mail the memorial to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Yoakum Family on the envelope. Dianna Lynn Beck Yoakum, the daughter of Paul John and Pauline Delores (Blake) Beck was born on September 24, 1953 in Marshalltown, Iowa.

She was a graduate of Newton High School in 1971. On November 12, 1971, Dianna was united in marriage with Donald L. Yoakum at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. They were blessed with two children, Chad and Keri.

Dianna had worked as a Transcriptionist at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She loved going camping and boating with her family and going down to Table Rock Lake. Dianna was a huge Elvis fan.

She also enjoyed watching Days of our Lives. Dianna was a loving and caring mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Dianna died on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Park Centre in Newton.

She was 65. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Yoakum in 2015; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wallace and brother-in-law, Larry Yoakum. Those left to cherish Dianna’s memory are her children, Chad Yoakum (Kiya) of Arizona and Keri Yoakum (Randy Ward) of Newton; five grandchildren, Megan Garcia, Cragar Klingensmith (fiancée, Morgan Pherigo), Zachary Klingensmith (Kaiah McNeely), Kaylee Barrett and Jesse Gelner (Ashley Bishop); two great-grandchildren, Ava Garcia and Linden Gelner; her siblings, John (Conni) Beck, Larry (Dana) Beck and Julie (Dennis) Anderson, all of Newton; sister-in-law, Bonnie Yoakum of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Max Wallace of Colfax; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
