Helen M. Bucklin, 100, of Baxter died on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Accura Healthcare of Baxter. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 25, at the Baxter Evangelical Free Church. The family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, February 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorials to the Baxter Ambulance or the Baxter Evangelical Free Church may be left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Helen, the daughter of Vern and Lennie (Koon) Pershall, was born on August 7, 1918 in Clyde. She grew up in the Clyde area.

Helen was united in marriage with Edward U. Bucklin on September 7, 1935 in Newton. They made their home around Baxter. Helen was a homemaker and hard working farmer’s wife.

She enjoyed horses and spending time riding with the entire family. Helen was a member of the Baxter Saddle Club and the Baxter Evangelical Free Church. Those left to honor Helen’s memory are her sons, Eugene (Jean) Bucklin of Oakes, North Dakota, Kenneth (Beverly) Bucklin of Sigourney, H. David (Mary) Bucklin of Baxter, and Dennis (Lois) Bucklin of Baxter; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter who will carry on Helen’s name on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 2002; a son, Donald in infancy; and her eight siblings, Bessie, Raymond, Doris, Jean, Lavon, John, Joyce, and MaryLou.
