Tracy F. Johnson, 59, of Newton died on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of Tracy’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Tracy’s family.

Tracy, the son of Forrest and Dorothy (Allfree) Johnson, was born on February 21, 1959 in Newton. He lived in Newton most of his life although he did spend a few years in Minnesota. Tracy was a jack of all trades and worked many different jobs; most recently working in apartment maintenance.

His hobbies included coin collecting and painting. Tracy is survived by his children, Kristin Johnson of Sartell, Minnesota and Dylan Johnson of Cold Springs, Minnesota; mother, Dorothy Probasco of Newton; siblings, Randy (Doris) Johnson of Marshalltown, Rick (Paula) Johnson of Waverly, and Tim (Vickie) Johnson of Newton; his aunt, Betty Allfree of Kellogg; uncle, Richard Allfree of Ames; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest “Johnny” Johnson and a sister, Michelle Johnson.
