Randy Glen Dickerson, Sr., 57, of Monroe died on Monday, February 18, 2019, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2019, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials in Randy’s name may be left at the funeral home. Randy, the son of Glen and Bevyrlee (Tool) Dickerson, was born on October 10, 1961 in Newton. Growing up he began his lifelong passion with music and took guitar and piano lessons.

He was also an Eagle Scout. Randy was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. He worked in construction most of his life and owned Town and Farm Builders.

Randy enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, golfing, and building things with his hands. Randy is survived by his children, Laura (Travis) Hinshaw of Newton, Lisa Dickerson of Newton, Randy (Laci) Dickerson, Jr. of Newton, and Emily (Derek) Henderson of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren, Seth, Cadence, Greenely, Ethan, Holdyn, Carson, Abigail, Selina, Kingston, Liam, and Jordyn; his brother, Danny Dickerson of Newton; sisters, Glenda (Ted) Wing of Monroe and Debbie (Gary) Selby of Newton; his fiancé, Lori DeJoode of Monroe; brother-in-law, Don Vander Putte of Newton; his many nieces and nephews; and his German Shepherd, Hero. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marcia Vander Putte and Tammy Dickerson; brother, Doug Dickerson; and a grandson, Emmerson Mahl.
