Mrs. Docia M. Chatham, age 87, of Lanett, AL passed away on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley, AL. She was born on March 30th, 1931 in Pine Mountain, GA to the late Olin and Willie McDowell. Mrs. Chatham is survived by her three children, Wanda Sue Robertson, Joe Brown (Renee) Chatham, Jr., and Beverly Chatham Clark; her nine grandchildren, Mandi (Jeremy) Daniel, Amy (Dustin) Lawler, Richard (Jackie) Robertson, Kenneth Shane (Shelly) Robertson, Stacy Lynn Robertson, Brandy Brooks, Tatyana Brooks, Joseph Chatham, and Thomas Chatham; a host of great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; her sister, Maynell Modlin; and a many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brown Chatham, Sr.; two brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Chatham was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Pint Mountain, GA. She was a very big Atlanta Braves fan.

She enjoyed visiting with folks and never met a stranger. She loved caring and cooking for her children and grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine Mountain, GA.
