Obituary for Dolores “Dee” Gorniak Print Dolores “Dee” Gorniak, 75, of Edinboro Road, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Center. She was born March 4, 1943, during a World War II imposed blackout at St. Vincent Hospital to Joseph and Josephine Gorniak. A lifelong resident of the Erie area, she graduated from St. Benedict Academy and Erie Commercial School.

After working part-time after school for a public accountant, she worked for the national accounting firm of Main, Lafrentz & Co. for 16 years. In 1979 she then became office manager for Omni Plastics Inc., later becoming the Production Control Manager until 1996. In 1997 Dee worked as a temp at the Erie Insurance Group and was hired there in 1999, retiring in April 2009.

Dee loved to travel, and enjoyed going to garage sales, craft shows, and performances at the Erie Playhouse. Her hobbies were reading and photography. Most of all, she loved spending time with her great-nieces and nephew.

Survivors include a brother, Richard Gorniak and his wife, Sherry, of Orlando, FL; two nephews, Geoffrey Gorniak of Orlando, FL, and Joshua Gorniak, his wife, Katie, and their children, Leyna, Tyler, and Lilith Gorniak of Lumberton, NC.
