OBITUARY Dolores Loverde Long September 15, 1933 – July 27, 2018 Dolores Loverde Long passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Cola Henry Long Jr. Loving mother of Richard J. Long (Karen) and Lori Long Cuccia (Anthony). Proud and devoted grandmother of Natasha Cuccia Robin (Kevin Hargis), Scott Cuccia (Melissa), Amy Long Desselle (Kenny) and her great grandchildren Evan Cuccia, Evangeline Cuccia and Nicholas Robin.

Daughter of the late Enola Quatroy Loverde and Victor W. Loverde Sr. Sister of the late Victor Loverde Jr. and Daryl F. Loverde. Sister-in-law of Darlene Gonzales (Edward), Joyce Latino (the late Marion), Robert Long (Vicki), Joseph Long Sr. (Dardenella) and the late Huey Long (the late Beverly), the late Eunice Doane (the late Buddy) and the late Ethel Melton (the late Charles). She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Dolores was a lifelong and active resident of St. Bernard Parish. She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She also volunteered her time to numerous charitable causes. She was an active member of St. Bernard Volunteers for Family and Community and New Orleans Women and Wine. She was a former Empress and active member of the Gladiator’s Carnival Organization.

She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She will forever be remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to so many. She believed in hard work and wanted nothing more than the best for her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:30 PM.

She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
