Domingo Marcano, a 40-year resident of Orange County and formerly of Beacon and Nagüabo, Puerto Rico, entered into rest at home surrounded by his family on March 7, 2019. He was 82 years old. Domingo was born in Nagüabo, Puerto Rico on January 31, 1937 the son of the late Margaro Marcano and Engracia Valentin.

On September 10, 1970 he married Alejandrina Ayala in Beacon. Mrs. Marcano survives at home. Domingo retired from Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.

He loved baseball and boxing. Domingo also had a passion for gardening, especially his vegetables and flowers. In addition to his wife, Domingo is survived by his children, Jose Torres and his wife, Betsy of Matamoras, PA, Mayleen Torres Rivera and husband, German Rivera of Clintondale, Margaro Marcano of Youngsville, NC and Gerardo Marcano and husband, Giacomo Bonacasa of Harlem; his seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; his brothers, Gumercindo, Francisco, Enrique, Pedro, Siano, Tanislao, Joaquin, Jose Manuel, Migdalia and Luis and their respective spouses; his numerous nieces and nephews and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Santos. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, March 12 from 11 to 1 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon. Memorial donations in memory of Domingo may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, New York 12550. To send a personal condolence please visit www.
