Don Newby March 2, 1937 – December 23, 2018 Don Newby of Spiro, Oklahoma was born March 2, 1937 in Leflore, Oklahoma to Dewey Lowe and Mable Loetta (Holderfield) Newby and passed away peacefully in his home in Spiro, Oklahoma on December 23, 2018 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace (Carl) Newby, four sons, Sam Newby and wife Sheri, Tim Newby, Benny Newby and wife Kathy, Ronny Newby and wife Andrea, his daughter-in-law Debbie Newby, 6 grandchildren, Jared Newby and wife Jayme, Chelsee Atkinson and husband Tyler, Tyler Newby, Andrea Paige and husband William Zindler, Hailey Brumbelow and husband Jeremiah, and Abbigail Newby, Kylia Howery, Shane and Williams and wife Rachelle, Travis Williams, Ciera Jergins, 17 great grandchildren, two brothers, Johnny Newby and wife Judy, Robert Newby and wife Oradell, one brother-in-law, Jim Carl and wife Shirley of Palmdale, CA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Don is preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Mable Newby, one son, Ted Newby, one sister, Joyce Newby, and one brother Bill Newby.

He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma National Guard, and loved to hunt and fish. Graveside funeral services will be 10am Wednesday at the Spiro City Cemetery with Reverend Shirley Soto officiating, pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. There will be no viewing or visitation before funeral services.
