Mr. Don R. Smith Sr., 85, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Greenwood Village South. He was born in Indianapolis to the late Lois A. (Simmons) Harding. Funeral services will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, May 30 at 6 pm with Rev.

Brien Stout officiating. A flag and taps presentation will follow the service to honor Don’s years of service and dedication to our country. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday from 4 pm until time of service.

On November 24, 1956 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, he married Judith Embry; she preceded him in death on May 4, 2018. He was a member of Seymour Elks Club. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 1987.

Don was a 30 year Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) basketball official, avid golfer, fan of Notre Dame football and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is survived by his children, Joseph Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Ted (Catalina) Smith, Patrick Smith, Cynthia Smith and Nathan (Melissa) Smith; 3 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Smith; sons, Don Smith, Jr. and Charles Smith; mother; and adoptive parents, Jack and Kitty Smith.
