Donald C. Hartmann, 76, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis, Indiana after a short illness. He was born June 10, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana, to Charles and Catherine (Musgrave) Hartmann. Don was an active member of Memorial Wesleyan Church.

He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from Marsh Supermarket after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Merting. Those… Read More » left to cherish Don’s memory are his wife of 41 years; Linda ; his children, Larry Neal, Denise (Mark) Michael, Garry (Kami)Bertram all of New Castle; grandchildren, Danielle Bertram, Megan Bertram, Chase Hambrick, Emily Sullivan, and Jolie Tompkins; sister, Marge Hollingsworth of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sisters and brother-in law; Darrell and Judy Taylor of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Robert and Glenda Johnson of Muncie, and several close nieces and nephews.

Don’s relationship with the Lord was his defining attribute. He was an avid reader of God’s word, a prayer warrior and held many positions in the church to support and call others into the service of Christ. Don and Linda enjoyed two missionary trips to Hungary in 1999 and 2000.

Don was the hardest worker his family has ever known. He always needed to have a project in the works. He loved mowing his yard and tending Linda’s flowers.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Memorial Wesleyan Church at 2701 N Memorial Dr., New Castle, Indiana, with the funeral following at the church at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Donald Hartmann Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
