Obituary for Donald “Donnie” Ray Robins Donald “Donnie” Ray Robins, 77, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2018, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Mr. Harold Welch.

Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Stigler, Oklahoma, on March 13, 1941, he was the son of Lester R. Robins and Laura V. (Harmon) Robins.

Donnie proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He spent many loyal years working as a Senior Lab Technician for Chevron Chemical in Orange. He enjoyed spending his spare time listening to music and going out dancing with his wife Shirley.

Donnie loved to travel to Oklahoma and Arkansas to visit his grandchildren as often as he could. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Laura Robins; daughter, Laura Robins; and brother-in-law, Mason Smith.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Robins; children, Janie Robins Harris and husband Joel, of Siloam Springs, AR, Shannon Boyd and husband Kenneth, of Tulsa, OK, and Tammie Garcia and husband Miguel, of Orange, TX; grandchildren, John and Katie Harris, Andrew Minchew and wife Amy, Michael and Jamie Garcia, and Haylie Belcher; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Lucas, and Matthew Minchew, and Korbyn Porter; siblings, Becky Smith, of Orange and Joey H. Robins and wife Sue, of Friendswood; niece, Angela Delk and husband Joe; nephew, Ty Robins and wife Sarah; and his great-nephew and great-niece, Jay and Bailey Delk. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center at PO Box 4486 Houston, TX 77210.
