Donald Ellsworth Nelson, 85 Donald Ellsworth Nelson, 85 of Wheelersburg went to be with the lord Friday July 20, 2018 at his home. He was born May 29, 1933 in Adams County to the late Oscar and Alberta Harper Nelson. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Jim Nelson, a grandson Andrew McIntire, and 2 great grandchildren.

Donald was a United States Army Veteran where he was a mechanic, he owned a franchise of the Snyder Chip Company, a talented musician, and a Sunday school teacher at Gospel Lighthouse Church. He is survived by his wife Janice Ruth Hayslip Nelson whom he married on March 22, 1958. 4 daughters; Pamela (Charles) McWharter, Kimberly (Wayne) Geyer, Robin (Andy) McIntire, and Lana (Carl) Saunders a grandson he raised Donnie Ray Nelson, a brother; Marion Nelson, 3 sisters; Helen Howard, Linda Caraway, and Virginia (Ralph) Spires.

15 Grandchildren; Leesa (Jeremy) Hall, Chad McWharter, Corey (Niki) McWharter, Sherry (Chass) Druckenbroad, Alyson (Matt) Munion, John Geyer, Jason (LeaAnn) McIntire, Levi McIntire, Nikki Chamblin, Krissi Taylor, Abbi (Justin) Rigdon, Tyler Saunders, and Brandon (Sierra) Saunders and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Tuesday July 24, 2018 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mike Bender and David Hopkins officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday Starting at 11:00AM.
