OBITUARY Donald Gene Weeks November 18, 1938 – July 21, 2018 Our hero, Donald “Don” Gene Weeks, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 21, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial with Fireman Honors will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will greet friends Tuesday night from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 635 Twin Bridges Road SW, Eatonton, Georgia 31024. Don was born in Eastman, Georgia to the late Jim Mathew Weeks and Marie Lee Weeks and is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife, Shirley Smith Weeks.

He loved more than anything to spend time with his three girls. Don was a retired Macon-Bibb County Fireman and served his country in the Air National Guard. He was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Don was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his most prized possession and he will be deeply missed. Don will be lovingly remembered by his children, Vicki Reid, Donna (Alton) Busbee of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Lori (Ricky) Jones; grandchildren, Bud (Lira), Britney (Jamie), Chloe, Don and Faith; and four great granddaughters, to carry on his legacy.
