Briggs 1945-2019 Donald George Briggs, formerly of Rutland and Concord, VT, passed away on February 14, 2019 at the Birchwood Terrace on Starr Farm Road in Burlington, VT. Don was born in Concord, VT, on December 22, 1945, son to Charlena Elizabeth (Powell) and the late Wendell George Briggs. He was raised and educated in Concord, worked on farms in Barnet and Sheffield and later as a contractor in North Carolina and Rutland.

He loved hunting and fishing and riding the roads around Concord when he came back to visit. One of his favorite places to camp was at Miles Pond. He was a very good cook and made the best chocolate fudge.

Donald is survived by his mother: Charlena McDufford of Melbourne, Fl. ; two sisters: Shirley Briggs of Littleton, NH, and Ruth Ann Briggs of Mooresville, NC; step-children: Jennifer Flanders and Elizabeth Briggs of Vermont; close friends: Jack and Bonnie Bowen of Rutland, Vt. ; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father: Wendell Briggs; a step-daughter: Sebrina Louise Briggs; his maternal grandparents: Grace and Clarence Powell; and his paternal grandparents: Avis Ruth and Trudell Briggs. Burial will be in the spring at Concord Village Cemetery in Concord, VT. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.
