Obituary for Donald LeRoy Cox BELLEVUE—Donald LeRoy Cox, 91, of Bellevue, formerly of Fullerton, died Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Eastern Nebraska Veterans’ Home in Bellevue. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with Reverend Vern Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton with military rites by Fullerton American Legion Post 151.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 16th at the funeral home. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home of Fullerton is serving the family. Donald was born August 14, 1927 to Wesley and Mary (Williams) Cox at Lebanon, NE.

He grew up in Western Nebraska and graduated from Parks High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 7, 1946 and was honorably discharged on April 24, 1947. On June 21, 1950, he married Rachel “Agnes” (Craig) Cox and they made their home south of Fullerton.

He ranched and, later, worked for Community Feed & Seed in Fullerton for many years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, gardening, driving a school bus for Fullerton Public Schools, being involved in his community, BINGO, and all his animals. Don was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at Fullerton Aerie 1981 and York #3990.

In 1982, Don and Agnes were honored to be the Nebraska State Presidents. He was also a member of the Tehama Shriners of Hastings, Master Mason with the Lone Tree Lodge of Central City, a member of United Methodist Church of Fullerton, an officer for the West Newman Township for many years, and a member of the Fullerton American Legion. He is survived by his daughter, Darla (Terry) Bengtson of Gretna; four grandchildren, Sara, Brevan, Teresa, and Megan; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Fern Hoffman of Denver, CO and Evelyn “Pearle” Hart of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Carol Craig of Ravenna, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel “Agnes” Cox; his parents; brothers, Albert “Lee” Cox, Darrell Cox, James “Ivan” Cox, and Wesley “Ike” Cox; and infant sister, Mary Joy Cox and infant brother, Elmer Cox.
