Hannalea Irene Gabriel, February 21, 1958 — January 29, 2019

FULLERTON–Hannalea Irene Gabriel, 60, of Fullerton, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at CHI Health-St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fullerton with Reverend David Fulton officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Fullerton.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 31st with a 7 p.m. rosary and scripture service at the church. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton is serving the family. Silvia Marie Franjic was born February 21, 1958 at Obererbach, Germany to Olga Franjic.

At the age of two, she was adopted by Charles and Irma (Heipertz) Alley. At the time of adoption, her name was changed to Hannalea Irene. They then moved to the United States after her adoptive father finished his Army career in Germany.

They lived in the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico, until settling in San Diego, CA. On May 24, 1975, she married Dennis Gabriel. They lived in Bremmerton, WA and San Diego, CA while Dennis was completing his U.S. Navy enlistment.

After, they moved to Fullerton, NE to operate the Gabriel family farms. Hanna volunteered and, later, worked at the Fullerton Manor, which was later called Golden Living Center. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.

She was active in South Sider 4-H Club and also managed the 4-H food stand at the Nance County Fair for many years. She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Fullerton; one son, Anthony Richard (Nicole) Gabriel of Sioux City, IA; one granddaughter, Carlie of Sioux City, IA; two sisters, Claudia (Franjic) Kiriakis and Sabine Roscher and brother, Marcello (Melanie) Haber, all of Germany. She is preceded in death by her birth mother; adoptive father and mother; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Alice Gabriel; step-father-in-law, Donald Horacek; and brother-in-law, Roger Malzacher.
