FULLERTON—Wanda Lee Sonderup, 83, of Fullerton, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Clarks. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Fullerton Community Church in Fullerton with Reverend Vern Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12th at the church. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton is serving the family. Wanda was born October 6, 1935 to Vance and Rose (Anderson) Keyes in Elgin.

Her family moved to Fullerton during grade school. She graduated from Fullerton Public Schools in 1953. On June 12, 1955, she married Milo Sonderup at the First Presbyterian Church.

They were married for 53 years. After Milo served in the U.S. Army in Washington D.C., they lived in Lincoln so he could finish college. They returned to the family farm near Fullerton in 1958.

Wanda was a long-time member of the Merry Makers Extension Club and First Presbyterian Church. She was devoted to her family and a passionate fan of Cornhusker football. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Bialas of Fullerton, Verna (LeRoy) Zaruba of Clarks, Julie (Tom) McPhillips of Belgrade, and Lisa (Kenny) Boryca of Fullerton; one son and daughter-in-law, Gregg (Michelle) Sonderup of Genoa; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Sonderup and Judy Sonderup of Fullerton, Elna Boardman of Grand Island, and Ruth Bisel of Central City.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008; her parents; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Fern and Paul Smith, Norman and Shirley Sonderup, Doris and Burch Fenstemaker, Dale and Phyllis Sonderup, Vern Sonderup, Lee Sonderup, Dick Boardman, Lee Bisel, and Larry Sonderup.
