Obituary for Donald Lindner Donald Lee Lindner, 89, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 1, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church with Father Patrick Behm officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Don is survived by his three sons, Bruce Lindner of Clarion, Iowa, Jay (Karen) Lindner of Fremont, Nebraska, and Dana (Paula) Lindner of Fort Dodge; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Lindner of Waukee, Iowa; six grandchildren, Thomas (Allie) Lindner, Daniel (Aubrie) Lindner, Sarah (Blair) Underwood, Emily (Paul) Koch, David Lindner, and Patrick Lindner; two great grandchildren, Logan and Clara Lindner; sister, Pat Easter of Royalton, Minnesota; brother, Bill Lindner of Rice, Minnesota; and a sister-in-law, Carol Martens of Fort Dodge.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; their son, Mark Lindner; his parents, step-mother, Marjorie Lindner; two brothers, Richard and Carl Lindner and a brother-in-law, Gene Martens. Donald Lee Lindner, the son of Roy and Bernice (McGough) Lindner, was born February 20, 1929 in Fort Dodge and attended school in Glendale, Minnesota. On May 20, 1950 Donald was united in marriage to Elsie Schlueter at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge.
Don worked at George A. Hormel & Company for 39 years before he retired in 1984. In Don’s spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. His wife passed away on September 13, 2012.
Don was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Dodge. The family request memorials left to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Donald Lindner please visit our Sympathy Store.
