Donald R. Garris, 83, of Latrobe, formerly of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Westmoreland Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1935, in Greensburg, he was a son of the late Oliver R. and Alice L. (Harrold) Garris.

He was a member of Hempfield Church of Christ, where he served many years as a deacon. He worked for SuperValu for 31 years and also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a sergeant. Don was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Garris; sisters, Anna Marie Garris, Sarah Garris, Emma Mae Hisker, Elizabeth Ashbaugh, Helen Kubicek, Ora Altman and Betty Trout; and brothers, William Garris, Charles Garris and Oliver Garris.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Wiltrout) Garris, of Latrobe; three sons, Raymond Garris, of Derry, Roger Garris, of Latrobe, and Robert Garris, of Elkton, Md. ; a daughter, Rhonda Anderson and husband Travis, of Latrobe, 10 grandchildren, Ryan Garris and wife Sydney (Elliott) Garris, of Clarkston, Mich. , Rustin Garris, of Waterford, Mich.

, Rachel Garris, Kyle Garris, Christian Garris, Brooke Garris, Trey Anderson and Kaitlyn Anderson, all of Latrobe, and Lillyanna Garris and Brianna Garris, of Oxford; a great-granddaughter, Hazel Garris, of Clarkston, Mich. ; a sister, Alberta John, of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, where his funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Mike Hazelton officiating.
