Donald R. Lancto, 83 of Dalton, MA passed away peacefully, on January 17, 2019, at Mt. Greylock Nursing Facility with his family by his side. Born in Pittsfield on December 1, 1935 the son of John and Emma Bedard Lancto, he was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Donald was employed by Modern Mold and Tool where he was shop supervisor for 51 years. Don was affectionally known as “Pops” where he mentored many and was respected by all. Donald enjoyed deep sea fishing trips, was an avid pitch player, and especially loved spending time with family.

He proudly served in the US Navy from January, 1956 through June, 1961. Until his death he was an active member of the V.F.W. Donald leaves behind his former wife Jeanette who remained close friends until his passing. Sons Richard Lancto; wife Terry, David Lancto; wife Karen L. Daughters Karen J. Lancto and Sandra Tynan.

Grandchildren David Lancto; wife Alicia, Bill Dunsmore, Olivia Lancto, Katelyn Tynan and his great-grandchildren Amelia, Cyris and Addison. Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings, Royal, John, Lillian Lancto Parent, George, and June Lancto Weatherwax. Donald was also preceded in death by his beloved grand-daughter Ryanne Lancto who passed in June of 2013.

The family of Donald would like to extend Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Mt. Greylock Extended Care, BMC staff of Second East Medical floor, and Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association. Their compassion and care for our Dad was exceptional.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you. Funeral Notice: Private funeral services and burial with full military honors will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made in his memory to the COPD Foundation in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
