Donald W Petty, 86, of Alexandria, passed away on February 15, 2019 at his daughter’s residence. He was born on September 18, 1932 in Hillsdale, and resided most of his life in Alexandria. He served his country in the United States Army, and retired as a Tool and Dye Maker at Delco Remy Division of General Motors.

He was a member of American Legion, and the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed painting and going to Florida.

Donald is survived by his children, Cheryl (Christopher) Cheetham, Scott Petty, Rhonda (Jim “Chico”) Noland; sister, Norma Bennett; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Icel L. Petty; brother, Walter Petty; and his sister, Martha Petty. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tammy, Jennifer and Kelly, the hospice nurses, Sierra and Jessica the hospice aides and Alexandria Care Center for all the loving care that they gave Donald.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 18, 2019, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 50 E. 91st Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN, 46240.
