Obituary of Donald Varner Donald Ray Varner, age 84, of Macks Creek, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home in Macks Creek. Don was born on March 5, 1934 in Macks Creek, Missouri. He was the son of Clarence and Mary (Rogers) Varner.

On April 11, 1974, was united in marriage to Judy Capps. They have shared 44 years of marriage together at the time of his death. Don was a dedicated and caring Funeral Director for Hedges-Scott Funeral Home for many years.

He took great pride in overseeing the Macks Creek location. Don and Judy had completed and published an extensive genealogy study of the cemeteries in Camden County. He also enjoyed taking road trips whenever he could.

Don was an active member of First Baptist Church Macks Creek where his faith and love of the church was evident. He taught youth classes for many years and was a great help to the church. Don is survived by his loving wife Judy of the home, their children John Varner and wife Wanda of St. Joseph, Missouri, Layne Davis and wife Angie of Macks Creek, Missouri, Joel Davis of Labelle, Missouri, and Dana Varner of Platte City, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and several great- grandchildren along with numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Mary Varner, and his son David. Services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Macks Creek.

Interment will follow at Macks Creek Cemetery, Macks Creek, Missouri.
