OBITUARY Donna B. Tinkler September 9, 1936 – November 9, 2018 Donna B. Tinkler, 82, passed away on November 9, 2018 in Virginia Beach, VA with her family by her side. She was born in Altoona, PA, and at age18, moved to Washington, DC where she met and married her devoted husband, David R.Tinkler. As a Navy wife and mother, Donna was a master at making any house, in any location, a loving home for her family.

She worked as a secretary for Virginia Beach Schools for 17 years, and after retirement, moved to New Bern, NC where she was an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church and the Carolina Pines Ladies Golf Association. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Tinkler and her parents, Joseph L. and Bertha S. Bettwy. She leaves her children Connie (Alan) King of Virginia Beach, VA, Melanie (Emilio) Coppola of Virginia Beach, VA, David Tinkler, Jr. of Pittsburg, KS, Joseph Tinkler of Rye,Texas,, and Debbie (JoJo) Medlin of Virginia Beach, VA, 10 grandchildren, Stephanie and Kevin Schumann, Brooke Coppola, A.J. and Jenna King, Ethan, Tucker, and Riley Medlin, Danielle Kellogg, and Meghan Tinkler and her brother, David S. Bettwy of McLean, VA.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Annunciation Catholic Church in New Bern, with visitation beginning at 12:30. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in New Bern. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Annunciation Catholic Church or other charity.
