Donna’s Obituary Donna Lou Novy, 89, Mandan, ND, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 of natural causes, at Sunset Drive-a Prospera Community nursing home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 16, at Christ the King Church, 505 10th Ave NW, Mandan, with Rev. Nick Schneider officiating.

Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm Friday, March 15, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Avenue, Bismarck. Donna was born in Wing, North Dakota, on July 7, 1929, to Toleff and Ethel Suby.

She graduated from Wing High School and attended Dickinson Teachers College. After a short stint as a one- room country school teacher, she married Peter Novy in August 1947 and started a family. They had three children, Peter, Richard and Susan.

In 1963, after many years of living on the ZX Ranch west of Wing, they moved to Mandan. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling to visit her son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Colorado. She also made trips to Rome, Ireland and Hawaii.

Donna is survived by her son, Peter Novy, of Boston, MA; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Novy, of Denver; her three grandsons, Richard and his wife, Jennifer of Anchorage, AK, Robert and his wife, Jennifer of Aurora , CO, and Ryan and his wife, Cindy of Aurora, CO. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Danielle and Jeffrey from Anchorage, AK, and Jourdan, Chance, Riley, Ryan and Charly of Aurora, CO. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; her son, Richard Novy; her daughter, Susan Carmen; and her parents.
