OBITUARY Dora Blanschies Farris February 5, 1927 – July 16, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Dora Blanschies Farris, age 91, died on Monday, July 16, 2018. She was born February 5, 1927 in Woodville, TX to Gustav and Emma Blanschies. After high school, Dora moved to Houston where she worked for the telephone company, for the City of Houston, and for Humble Oil, later Exxon-Mobil, as a PBX operator and later as supervisor of the telephone office at Exxon.

She also received her Associates Degree from North Harris County College. Dora is survived by two sisters, Norma Cooper and Della Hanks; by daughters, Dorothy McCreight and husband James, and Candy Lartigue and husband Larry; by grandchildren, Katie McCreight, Maggie Carpenter, Sarah Fontenot, Kris Lartigue, Angie Chandler, and Lauren Lartigue. She has 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Over the years, Dora was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, Founders Baptist, and First United Methodist, Cleveland TX. She loved to travel, to sew, to paint, and to host guests at her home. The family thanks the caregivers at Autumn Grove Cottage, Atascocita for their special care.

Services will be Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.
