OBITUARY Terri Lynn Cheatwood October 12, 1954 – July 12, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Terri Lynn Cheatwood, 63, became an angel of the Lord, surrounded by her family, in Houston, TX on July 12, 2018. She will be genuinely missed, and was undoubtedly the best mother, wife, sister, and friend we all could have asked for. Terri was born on October 12, 1954 in Houston.

She graduated Smiley High School in 1972 with her two best friends Jane Dyess and Marianne Spencer Rogers. She became a Specialist 4 in the United States Army until 1976. Terri had a successful, 25 plus year career with AT&T and her final retirement from Gexa Energy in 2015.

Terri’s passing was preceded by her mother and father, Bertha Hooper-Jones and Robert Lee Hooper. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Daniel J. Cheatwood; daughter, Natasha Louise Gibbs, daughter-in-law, Nichelle J’Elene Gibbs, and former spouse, Anthony Martin-Taylor, Natasha’s father. Terri is also survived by loving sisters and their families, Martha Ann McConnell (sister), Johnny McConnell (brother-in-law), Michelle Read (niece), Jason McConnell (nephew), Dixie Lee Shaw (sister), Eddie Shaw (brother-in-law), Aaron Shaw (nephew), Nathan Shaw (nephew), Jonathan Shaw (nephew), Rachel Mandreger (niece), and Hannah Bradley (niece), great nephews and nieces and her beloved cousin Wayne Hopkins, and her two dogs Allie and Bella.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with her funeral service following at 11:00 am at Houston’s First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024, with a reception to follow at the church. FAMILY Terri’s passing was preceded by her mother and father, Bertha Hooper-Jones and Robert Lee Hooper. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Daniel J. Cheatwood; daughter, Natasha Louise Gibbs, daughter-in-law, Nichelle J’Elene Gibbs, and former spouse, Anthony Martin-Taylor, Natasha’s father.
