Dorinda “Jeannie” Smith May 13, 1967 – July 1, 2018 Jeannie Smith became heavens most beautiful angel on July 1, 2018 at the age of 51 years. She leaves behind her husband of 22 years Todd Smith and two sons, Neil and Ned Smith of Old Lyme. Jeannie was born on May 13, 1967, to Dorinda Hawkins Morgan and the late Ned Hawkins Morgan of East Lyme.

She grew up in a large, loving family with four brothers and one sister. She was a devoted mother and fully dedicated to her two boys in all aspects of their lives. She sought to instill in her two boys a zest for life, a commitment to family and friends, and the power of a smile.

Jeannie battled cancer for the past 5 years with courage, strength and grace. She would not allow cancer to define her. She truly amazed the doctors and nurses with her beauty and willingness to continue fighting.

She leaves a legacy of love with her family, friends and all those who knew her. She was one true…”Beautiful Soul”. Jeannie is survived by her one sister Jackie Williams and husband John and her brothers Ned Morgan, Bill Hawkins Morgan and wife Jill, Jim Hawkins Morgan and wife Kim and Joe Hawkins Morgan.

She also leaves behind Sister in law Michelle Croteau and husband Gary and brother in law Steven Smith. Jeannie had a special relationship with her nephews and nieces. She loved them as they were her own and they admired her.

She leaves behind her 4 nephews, Jacob, John Morgan, Mason and Niko, and two nieces Chloe and Katie. Jeannie was employed by Fire Safety Specialists at the Millstone Power Station as a Payroll/Training Administrator. She truly loved working and the people she worked with.

She continued to work through her illness with a positive attitude and had an irresistible smile that touched everyone she knew. The family would especially like to thank the doctors and nurses at Woman’s and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI. Jeannie was blessed to have the most amazing group of medical professionals take care of her.
