Doris Cochran “Jimmie” Henry, age 88, of Buford, died May 5, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth Chapel. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth.

Mrs. Henry was born in Blue Ridge, GA and was a homemaker. She was a very kind, soft spoken and strong willed woman who enjoyed the beach, traveling and making jewelry. She is survived by her children, Carol H. Preston (Charles) of Conover, NC, Vicki Henry Higgins (Wayne-deceased) of Buford , Michael Henry (Elaine) of Cornelia and Deborah Goin (John) of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Tatum Preston, Charlsye Preston Briegel (Tom), Whit Preston and friend Blake Carswell, Michelle Presley (David), Dorisi Cordero (Sammy), Joseph Henry (Amber), Kelly Harris (Sean), Christopher Goin and fiance Jennifer Hawkins, Natalie Higgins (Corey) and Casey Carroll; great grandchildren, Mariah, Sammy Jr., Cole, Savannah Grace, Austin, Sadie, Rachel, Jacob (Jake), Levi, Chase, Conner, Clay and Cannon; aunts, Essie Jane Cochran and Nell Poston (J.D.); uncle, George Cochran (Dorothy); cousin, Jana Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.C. Henry, a grandson, Jeffrey Henry, parents, Clifford and Ethel Kelly Cochran, brother, Kelly W. Cochran, aunt, Jesse Kelly and her beloved 18 year old Yorkie, Peaches. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers for Mrs. Henry; Mary Gonsales, Gail Farrell, Cindy Slotterback, Jenny Slotterback, Carolyn Mays, Dorisi Cordero, Jennifer Hawkins, Sherlon Baggett, Cindi Steele, Michelle Presley, Teresa Barczak, Pam Dixe and her loving children, Carol, Vicki, Mike and Debby. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Duluth Chapel, 770-476-2535.
