Doris E. Shock, 82, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was the daughter of John and Lulu (Aten) McDermott. Doris meet the love of her life, John F. Shock, at her first job at Bundle of Joy in Wilkes-Barre.

She later married John and become home maker and raised their two children. After John’s passing in 1991, she worked at Boscov’s until she retired. One of her passions, was the theater and she enjoyed spending time with her family seeing shows, especially her favorite, Phantom of the Opera.

Doris also enjoyed spending time reading. Doris was preceded in her death by; her loving husband, John, two brothers, Delbert and John “Jack” McDermott. Surviving are her loving daughter, Linda Shock and loving son, David Shock, Wilkes-Barre.

A Service celebrating Doris’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, at 11:00 AM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with Reverend Carol Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
