Doris Lea Garland, 85, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday April 22, 2018. Doris was born on August 16, 1932 to the late Robert & Edna Payne. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Ocoee Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Although she had many talents and hobbies, the thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her beloved family. Along with her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Claud Garland; son, Freddie Garland; son-in-law, Roger Poe; and siblings, J.C. Payne, Randall Payne, Annis Van Dyke, and Patricia McCracken. Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving daughters, Glenda Epperson (Lynn) and Judy Poe; grandchildren, Jeremy Epperson (Amanda), Adam Epperson (Amy), Matthew Epperson (Adrienne), Julie Howard (Jeff), and Jessica Stone (Charlie); great-grandchildren, Anais Epperson, Bryson Epperson, Gabriel Epperson, Quentin Epperson, Aubrie Epperson, Mattie Epperson, Brodie Stone, and Shelby Stone; sister, Ruth Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Thursday April 26, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, Tennessee, 37311. A celebration of life funeral service will begin at 2:00pm at the funeral home, with Adam Epperson and Matthew Epperson officiating. Following the service, Doris will be laid to rest in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Lynn Epperson presiding over the graveside.

Jeremy Epperson, Adam Epperson, Matthew Epperson, Bryson Epperson, Charlie Stone, Brodie Stone, and Jeff Howard will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Thompson, Bud Waltman, Ronald Miller, Pete Barber, Pete Newman, and Jonathon Powell.
